We're Back (nearly)

After a bit of a break from podcasting, we found ourselves downloading tracks for a new Astroquarian this evening. While it’s a little too late to record it today, rest assured we’re alive and ready to record again – this week. Promise!

Love from T&T at Astroquarian

Astroquarian 18

Here it is at long last. Astroquarian 18. We take you from French saxophonic dubelectro into blissed out Arabian ambience, thence to flowery London psychedelia, and into acoustic psy-trance, and more. Enjoy!

Astroquarian 16 Coming Soon

We have selected seven artists for the next podcast, and over the coming week we’ll plan our playlist for Astroquarian 16.

We are constantly amazed at the wonderful music that there is out there in the world, music not shackled to huge corporations, fuelled by the urge to share through Creative Commons, or through podcast specific websites such as the Podsafe Music Network. And musicians can still make money! Look at Magnatune‘s 50/50 royalty ratio, and Jamendo‘s BuzzTeam for donating to artists you like.

There are still the electrical grounding problems to overcome, so you might have to bear with us for a while until we can resolve it – tips and suggestions are welcomed!

Astroquarian 15 coming soon

Well, we’ve moved house, had a battle to get an internet connection, got online, had earthing problems with our mixer, and one of us has suffered broken bones, but despite all of that, we’re still on course to record Astroquarian 15 in the next few days.

The playlist is quite superb, chilled, and psychedelic. A fitting return for Astroquarian after nearly 2 months of podcast silence.

Keep your ears peeled, it’s not far off, we promise!

Plans and News

The playlist is underway for AQ15, as well as an idea that we might do an “Analogue Astroquarian” sometime in the next few months dedicated to the analogue synthesizer. Emails will be sent, letters will be written. Music will be played.

Although we don’t seem to get many comments on the blog or many emails to astroquarian [ at ] gmail [ dot ] com the server seems to think that there are lot of you out there. Hundreds of you. Thousands in some cases.

Well, we hope you’re enjoying our idiosyncratic little podcast, and that you continue with us along our musical discoveries.

Astroquarian 14

This may be the smallest Astroquarian podcast to date but it is not small in character. Big music from around the world and across the genre-bending skies we fly…

Big thanks to Sigurd Lühr Tonna of Annot Rhül and mp3underground.net for acquiring permission for us to play Seid and the Tremolo Wankers. And indeed to introducing us to his own projects, more of which we will play in the future.

And a big thank-you to Mr Kevin Ellis for providing the Bubble Dubble track to play, especially since there’s one featuring the legend that is Nik Turner… More from them in the future too :-)
