After a bit of a break from podcasting, we found ourselves downloading tracks for a new Astroquarian this evening. While it’s a little too late to record it today, rest assured we’re alive and ready to record again - this week. Promise!

Our recording environment has not improved much but that has not stopped us stocking up for not just Astroquarian 18 but we are only two tracks short for edition 19!

Strong in the forthcoming editions on tracks from Magnatune and Jamendo (new website, much better!) we’ve really stretched our own ideas on what we consider alternative, interesting, eclectic and good. I maintain I have a broader repertoire than T… see what you think.

Once we can plan to be in on the same evening we may get to record both at the same time.

We have selected seven artists for the next podcast, and over the coming week we’ll plan our playlist for Astroquarian 16.

We are constantly amazed at the wonderful music that there is out there in the world, music not shackled to huge corporations, fuelled by the urge to share through Creative Commons, or through podcast specific websites such as the Podsafe Music Network. And musicians can still make money! Look at Magnatune’s 50/50 royalty ratio, and Jamendo’s BuzzTeam for donating to artists you like.

There are still the electrical grounding problems to overcome, so you might have to bear with us for a while until we can resolve it - tips and suggestions are welcomed!

Well, we’ve moved house, had a battle to get an internet connection, got online, had earthing problems with our mixer, and one of us has suffered broken bones, but despite all of that, we’re still on course to record Astroquarian 15 in the next few days.

The playlist is quite superb, chilled, and psychedelic. A fitting return for Astroquarian after nearly 2 months of podcast silence.

Keep your ears peeled, it’s not far off, we promise!

[Update] - We’re still offline. A problem at our telephone exchange means that we have to wait yet another week..!

We are taking a short break from show-planning for the next few weeks. The studio is moving yet again, this time to (hopefully) more permanent climes. In the meantime we continue to pick up interesting and good music for AQ 15 and beyond.

I am in the middle of putting together the playlist for AQ 13. This edition is going to have a jazzy-funky edge to it as we delve deeper into the amazing lands of podsafe music. The new edition should be out by the end of the week. Let’s go…

It may only be a small dot, but AQ 12 is on the way, with a superb playlist featuring some blistering tracks from Norway.

We’ve been tuning our ears up, and listening to a lot of music lately. The playlist for the next show is shaping up, and we hope to record it this weekend, so hang on in there!

The playlist for Astroquarian 09 has been selected, and recording begins tonight. We’re also planning another ’special’ where we are interviewed (on our own podcast!) about why we do Astroquarian, what we get out of it, and how we see the future of music.
